Love Wednesday: Avoiding Frustrations

Spending time with Abba is essential, and the importance of studying His word cannot be overemphasized. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not like people. He tells no lies. He is not like humans. He doesn’t change His mind. When He says something, He does it. When He makes a promise, He keeps it.”
As we study His word and strive to be like Him with the help of the Holy Spirit, we recognize that He speaks to us. However, for someone to know that another is speaking, they must have the ability to hear. If we do not hear Him, we cannot know what He is saying. And if we do not know what He is saying, we will not know where we stand, what to do, or what to avoid.
Apostle John illustrates this in John 15:1—hearing from God is vital to staying connected to Him, the Vine, as we, the branches, receive instructions, warnings, promises, assurances, prophecies, prayers, and more. These are the very things we need for personal growth, career advancement, and unity in our families.
God communicates with us in diverse ways—through His word, direct messages from His servants, hymns, or sermons, all of which are elements of a church gathering. The early church fathers frequently gathered and remained connected to the Vine, which made them fruitful. Each meeting provided multiple avenues for them to hear from God.
Being clueless is really frustrating. This, when we make it a priority not to neglect the gathering of believers and come together to call upon His name, as he has promised, His presence is made manifest. This increases our chances of hearing what He is saying. Only then can we take His promise like a cheque to the bank—assured that it will be fulfilled.
As you prioritize attendance at church gatherings and coming together to call upon His name, may we continually experience God's presence and hear Him in Jesus name. Amen
