Love Wednesday: Still Seating, No longer Chosen.

It’s another Love Wednesday, and today’s lesson is about King Saul, a man who sat on the throne as king but was no longer truly king because the Spirit of God had left him. He still carried the title, still looked the part, and still gave commands, yet heaven had already rejected him. At the same time, David had already been anointed, chosen by God, even though he was not yet on the throne.
This story teaches us that it is possible to still occupy a position without carrying the presence that made that position meaningful. Saul assumed he was still king, but in reality, God had moved on. While Saul held on to what he thought was still his, David was growing into what God had already prepared for him.
It is important to discern when the Lord no longer dwells in a place. Sometimes, we hold on to titles, roles, or seasons simply because they look good or feel familiar, not realizing that God has shifted. When God is no longer in a thing, no amount of effort, appearance, or status can sustain it.
This Love Wednesday, let this be a reminder to choose God’s presence over position. Ask yourself, am I aligned with where God is, or am I holding on to what He has already left? Because it is not the title that sustains you, it is the presence of God.
