Love Wednesday: THE YEAST

ree

Galatians 5:9 – “This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough.”

Unknown to the children of Israel, who needed to make their way to the Promised Land that God had promised to their forefathers, they only needed to believe. At a certain point, it was time for them to claim the promise that had been passed down for generations.

The spies that Moses sent had just returned from spying on Canaan. Caleb and Joshua believed, but the remaining ten spies did not. They spread their unbelief to the rest of the children of Israel, who chose to believe their report over that of Caleb and Joshua. The false report from the spies—like a little yeast—spread through the whole batch of dough. The children of Israel silenced the voice of hope and strength coming from Joshua and Caleb and instead echoed the voice of defeat, weakness, and inadequacy coming from the other spies. We all know where their decision landed them—they couldn’t enter the Promised Land.

This yeast can come in different ways, either good or bad, as seen in the lives of the Israelites in Numbers 13:26-33. The influence of yeast is so great that every other ingredient in the dough responds to it. What is the yeast in your dough?

You need to choose your yeast. But as you do, remember that God’s love for us is eternal, and in Him, there are definitely all kinds of good things. He has come to give us life. He has come to give us peace. He has come to give us hope. He has come to give us joy. Let these be the yeasts with which you leaven your life and family today and forever.

Spend time hearing from Abba through His words in the Bible. Spend time talking to Him through your prayers, and watch how much you’ll grow. In the journey of life, we need to believe and act in accordance with our belief in Jesus as the yeast that is able to leaven our lives.

Whatever is in your life right now—worry, fear, anger, unhappiness, anxiety—they will all respond to your yeast. And their response is totally dependent on the yeast you choose.

It is important to know that God has sent His Son—His only begotten Son—and His Holy Spirit after Him as a yeast. And in order for this yeast to have any influence on our dough (lives), it needs to spend time in it. How do we do that? By spending time with Abba.

This yeast is capable of giving us increase. It is capable of raising our status. It is capable of softening the hard situations we may find ourselves in.

I pray for you today—for the grace to spend time with Abba and let Him be the yeast that leavens your life, in Jesus’ mighty name.

You’re favored!!!

You’re preserved!!!

We love you!!!

God bless you!!!

A TIME WITH ABBA ❤
