MERCY NOT TO DESPISE THE HELP OF GOD.

It’s another Love Wednesday, and today, we will consider the story of Naaman.
Naaman was a commander, a mighty man of valor, and highly respected in his nation. Yet, he carried a private pain—he was a leper. When the servant girl in his household directed him to the prophet Elisha in Israel, Naaman expected something dramatic. He wanted the prophet to come out, wave his hand, and perform a spectacular miracle.
But Elisha’s instruction was simple:
“Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.”— 2 Kings 5:10 (NIV)
Naaman was offended. He felt insulted by the simplicity of the instruction. In fact, he said:
“Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?”— 2 Kings 5:12 (NIV)
At that moment, pride almost robbed him of his healing. But thank God for the wisdom of his servants who pleaded with him to obey. Naaman eventually dipped himself in the Jordan, and his flesh was restored like that of a child.\
Now pause and reflect.
How often do we despise the simple ways God chooses to help us?Have you dismissed God’s mercy because it didn’t come in the package you expected?Do you sometimes look down on “small” instructions, forgetting that obedience is the key to activation?
Beloved, it takes humility to receive mercy. God’s help may not always look glorious at first. Sometimes, His answer is wrapped in simplicity. Sometimes, His mercy flows in ways that challenge our pride.
Today, may your eyes be open to recognize God’s mercy. May your heart be humble to embrace His help, no matter how it comes. And may you never miss your miracle because of pride or misplaced expectations.
You are favored.
You are preserved.
We love you.
God bless you.
