The Filter Called Prayer

Proverbs 3:5–6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
In a world flooded with opinions, news, and constant “updates,” the greatest danger is not lack of information but lack of discernment. Not every update deserves a response, and not every piece of information deserves space in your heart. Prayer is the filter that keeps your spirit from absorbing what your destiny cannot afford.
Before reacting, reposting, confronting, or internalizing what you hear, prayer gives you pause. It slows the noise and invites God into the moment. Many updates arrive urgent, emotional, or convincing—but prayer asks a deeper question: Is this from God, or is this a distraction dressed as insight?
Jehoshaphat survived battles not because he had the best intelligence, but because he learned to ask God first. When prayer becomes your first response, confusion loses its power. Fearful updates lose their grip. Manipulative counsel is exposed. Prayer does not just seek answers; it realigns your heart to hear God clearly.
Some updates are true but still unhelpful. Some are factual but spiritually toxic. Prayer helps you discern not only what is being said, but what it is producing in you. If it stirs anxiety, pride, haste, or compromise, it may be information—but it is not wisdom.
May God give us the grace to take everything to Him in Jesus name
Amen.
