WAR OF UNDERSTANDINGS: Absolute Truth and the Seeming Truth

The first and truest reality is this: God is real, and His love is without strings attached. God doesn’t love us because we’ve earned it or because we’ve gotten everything right. He loves us simply because He is love. His love is pure, constant, and unconditional. No matter what we’ve done, where we’ve been, or how far we feel from Him, His love remains. The Bible says, “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” (Romans 5:8). That’s the kind of love that reaches into brokenness and offers healing without demanding we clean ourselves up first.
This love is not a vague idea—it is deeply personal. God calls us His own children. He doesn’t just tolerate us; He delights in us. “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1). In this reality, we are seen, known, and valued. God’s love brings peace to anxious hearts, restores identity to the lost, and gives eternal hope to those who trust Him.
But there is another reality—one that looks real but is entirely counterfeit. It is the reality the enemy wants us to believe. Satan is the master deceiver, always working to twist truth and plant lies. He wants people to think they aren’t loved, that they have no purpose, and that their value is found in things that don’t last—like fame, wealth, or other people’s opinions. Jesus said of the devil, “He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him… for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).
This counterfeit reality promises freedom but leads to bondage. It offers temporary pleasures that fade and leaves people chasing approval, success, or escape—but never finding true peace. Jesus warned us clearly: “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10). While the enemy’s goal is destruction, Jesus’ goal is life—real, full, and eternal.
Each day, we stand between these two realities: the truth of God’s love or the lies of the enemy. One leads to life, the other to destruction. God will never force Himself on us, but He invites us—gently and persistently—to trust Him. He wants us to walk in truth, live in freedom, and experience the depth of His love. The invitation is clear: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3:5–6).
So choose the reality that gives life. Trust God. Even when the world feels confusing, even when lies seem louder than truth—trust Him. His love is real. His promises are sure. His arms are open. He’s not asking you to be perfect, just to come. Let go of the counterfeit. Step into what’s real. Because if the Son sets you free, you are truly free (John 8:36).
