WAR OF UNDERSTANDINGS: DILIGENCE OR DEPENDENCE

ree

A witness can only speak of what they’ve seen. But every climax in a story is preceded by a buildup—a sequence of events that give meaning to the moment. If the witness didn’t see the buildup, they might misjudge the climax unless someone fills in the gaps.

This is why God being the Alpha and Omega—the Beginning and the End—is so important. It is one of the many manifestations of His sovereignty. When He speaks, it is out of love. It is from the vantage point of one who has seen the outcome before you even began the journey.

Yes, God encourages diligence and self-sufficiency. As 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (NLT) says:

“Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: ‘Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.’”

God wants us to do things rightly, legally, and with hard work. But here’s the trap: there’s a tendency to begin relying solely on your hard work—to believe it is the sole source of your provision and identity. This mindset can subtly edge out the truth that God is Jireh—your provider.

The enemy would love for you to remain stuck in this half-truth. He wants you so focused on the value of work that you miss the reality of Philippians 4:19 (NLT):

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

There is another truth—you don’t have to do it all alone. There is One who is greater, invested fully in your well-being and satisfaction.

As Psalm 127:2 (NLT) says:

“It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.”

The truth about God and His desires for you is layered—like an onion. One revelation is not the end. But the enemy preys on our reluctance to go deeper. He keeps us so consumed by productivity that we can’t enter into the rest promised in Psalm 127:2.

Today, God is calling you deeper. There’s more to life than working for bread. There’s more to Him than one side of truth. Even in moments that seem idle, He can pour out wisdom, peace, and provision—if only you’ll come to Him.

He wants to expose the lies of the enemy and reveal the vast resources of heaven available to you. He wants you to live a balanced, whole, healthy, and aligned with His will—that you seek His kingdom first.

Don't forget; With Him, all things are possible.

You’re Favored.

You’re Preserved.

You Are Loved.

God Bless You.
